Make your own stilts to support pottery with this stilt making press mold
Includes one ounce of dry refractory clay to mix with your own pound of high temp clay
5 ft of high temperature wire also rated for use at cone 10 (requires wire cutters or good pliers that have a cutter) (we recommend cutting wire to 3/8" long and no longer then 1/2" long)
If you cut the wire to 3/8" long, and only place 3 wires per clay stilt, then this kit can make about 40 stilts.
To use, press a small amount of clay into the 3 stilts, flip over and press the mold onto a table and lift the mold up until the clay comes out of the mold (you can also let the clay dry to leather hard in the mold and then remove the stilts). Then cut your wire to 3/8" long and push it into the stilt but do not push it all the way in (you want to press it in a bit more then half way into the stilt and make all the wires level with one another). Allow to dry and then you can bisque fire them or use them immediately.
